Hello Everyone,

I had the honor today of having Lt. General Hal Moore sign my two books,
"We Were Soldiers Once...and Young" and the follow up book, "We Are
Soldiers Still". I met this Honorable Patriot at his home and he took the
time out of his busy day to sign my books.

Our Country owes a huge debt of gratitude to all of our Vietnam vets who were
never given the proper respect they deserved for serving their country when they
came home from that hell in Southeast Asia.

Respectfully,
Mike W.

PostSubject: The second book...   Tue Mar 10, 2009 1:21 am

I haven't read it yet but I will let you know. Last night I spoke
with Sergeant Major Basil Plumley, Gen. Moore's top NCO during
Ia Drang. I hope to get him to autograph my two books as well
later this week. I will post pictures if I do.

It's exciting to actually make a living connection with our history.

Respectfully,
Mike W.
Auburn

Update: Here is CSM Plumley's Truck:

Any doubt that he is 7th Cavalry through and through?

and The Legend himself...CSM Basil Plumley, Senior NCO at Ia Drang Valley

Now..on to get Joe Galloway's autograph.

Respectfully,
Mike W.

Hello Everyone,

UPDATE: Joe Galloway and LTG Moore went to the Ft. Benning
Infantry Museum Parade Field Dedication today. The museum itself
opens in June. On the Parade Field, they mixed with the parade field
dirt with the dirt from eight major wars including dirt from LZ X-Ray.
I met Joe at the home of LTG Moore and he signed my books.

Respectfully,
Mike W.

Yes, its a bit of a necro-post. Havn't checked it in a while. Anyway...

I think its awsome that you got to meet those guys in person. Their story is incredible, like many others from our history. Those books you have are among a very few that have been signed by all three of those men. Very Cool.
