call in an airstrike.....lol present a front where the other team sees 2-3 of you then let 1 guy stay there and shoot a lot keeping hidden where it seems there are more people there then th other 2 guys sneak to 2 different positions .....have a set time to charge or use comm devices and all begin to close in at once

Where would they be? On a road? in the woods? If they are in the woods i would direct my team to get behind some great cover. If they are on a road i would stay a little ways back from the road and wait till they pass a little ways ( still in range) and make my move

Try an L shaped ambush. Place one man on the short leg of the L. He should have the weapon with the greatest rate of fire. Place the other two men on the long leg of the L. The man on the short leg initiates the ambush with the two on the long leg engaging any flankers ot targets of opportunity. Maximum firepower is the key. get the target into a kill zone where your fields of fire interlock and lay it to them. This type of ambush workes best on a trail or road where there is a curve or turn. Hope this helps.

A u shape might work but it is easy to have fratricide occur, an L shape keeps fields of fire clean so that doesn't happen. Also if you are using an L shape watch for flankers of the short leg. That is the most effective way to break the ambush. If you can use mines or booby traps there are some other tricks that will work. Remeber show the opposing force what they expect to see not what is waiting for them. If you are really interested in small unit tactics I can help you find some online manuals that can get you up to speed on this.

Check out FM 7-8 at this link. Chapter 3 Combat patrols covers ambush basics, it might be more detailed than what you are looking for. http://www.armyrotc.vt.edu/cadets/fm7-8.htm

| I second Bravo 37's recommendation. I was going to suggest an L shape ambush as well. With 3 persons, it would be your most effective. If you could afford one, an airsoft claymore would be very useful in this situation. _________________ JG BAR-10 w/scope and SRC Harris style bipod, EdGi 6.01 TBB, other things "What is your major malfunction Knumbnuts?
