This is not in depth and is intended to lay the ground work for EPWs at Mt. Doom for the upcoming game. NOTE: Only Phelan Liberation Group, Cordovan National Guard and Civilians may be detained. Corona and Ariana always return to respawn.

The Five “S”:
Search, Silence, Segragate, Safeguard, Speed

SEARCH:
Look for weapons and intelligence
Common method of a field search
• Hands behind the head (fingers interlocked)
• Put EPW on his knees
• Search EPW from head to feet
• Utilize pinch pull method
Inspect any area susceptible to hiding important information:
• Head, Hat, Collar
• Underarms
• Waist Line, Crotch
• Inner leg, Ankles
* Inspect equipment if time permits.

EPWs may or may not have intel documents on them. I will discuss a simple search prior to the game. If an EPW has intel documents you will be able to find it quickly.

SILENCE:
Prevent EPWs from communicating
Deter escape planning
Operational consideration

Captors may tell the EPW they have been gagged. Once notified the EPW may not speak.

SEGRAGATE:
Officer from enlisted
Senior enlisted from junior enlisted
Males from females
Military association
Why?
• Break up the chain of command
• Decreases ability to keep military effectiveness
• Prevent organizing in order to resist or escape

How or if you do this is your call.

SAFEGUARD:
Protect EPW against further harm
• Other EPWs
• Friendly forces
• Enemy forces

Escort the EPW back to your base camp. During escort an EPW may not try to escape unless you come under attack.

SPEED:
Arrange transportation to higher headquarters
• Properly interrogate and process EPWs
• Removes prisoner from familiar surroundings

Any detailed intel an EPW has will be provided once they are at the Base Camp. The interrogation process will require five minutes. The EPW will then return to the respawn to fulfill another role in the scenario.

Questions? Ask over the next 4 days or the evening prior to the game starting.

As there appears to be much trepidation in searching prisoners, here are some basic rules we can build on. This is just a frame work and suggestions are solicited.

PRISONER RULES>

Taking Prisoners is possible during the game. Only members of the Phelan Liberation Group (PLG), Cordovan National Guard or Civilians may be taken prisoner. If you have not been specifically told you are member of one of these groups, return to respawn.

There are two ways to take a prisoner. A verbal challenge to which the target responds by surrendering or by getting within 25 feet a calling “Captured”.

Some prisoners will resist and some won’t, those who resist are limited to being a verbal annoyance and refusal to follow directions.

A captured Prisoner may communicate. Yell for help, curse at his captors, but a captor state "Gagged!" and the Prisoner must then shut-up.

If the Prisoner refuses to walk on his own power, the captor can declare “Bound for Transport” the Prisoner must then be accompanied by at least two captors and do as directed. Both captors must sling their weapons to simulate carrying the bound POW.

In addition to "gagging" a Prisoner, a captor may "search" a POW. He states "Search" to the prisoner and counts out loud to twenty. When finished counting, the Prisoner is required to turn over any game documents or special props to the captor. The captor may only open game documents labeled “TACTICAL”. If the Prisoner turns over a game document labeled “STRATEGIC” that document cannot be opened until five minutes after the Prisoner’s arrival at the captor’s Base Camp. The counting search also applies to weapons. The Prisoner must declare all weapons carried and then keep his weapons slung and holstered, and they may not be employed.

Prisoners may be rescued by friendly forces. If a friendly player reaches and touches a Prisoner, the Prisoner may re-enter the game and use his weapons. Otherwise the Prisoner must remain where he is taken, although a guard is expected to watch over them.

If left unguarded (the guard leaves the area or is shot) Prisoners may try to run away, but they may not fire their weapons unless they can touch a friendly player or a downed player from either team. A bound Prisoner left unattended for five minutes will return to respawn.

No one from Corona wants to be a POW.

Just a heads up. Twisted Evil

AGAIN: If you have not been specifically told your are a member of the PLG, CNG or a CIVILIAN Role player, return to respawn.

Prisoner rules only apply to these specific groups to aid in providing game intelligence to the teams.

CORONA AND ARIANA ARE EXEMPT FROM BEING CAPTURED
