Hello Everyone,

I currently carry an A&K M249 and I love it. I have always liked support weapons.

I thought that I would start an M60 thread for those who like the older Vietnam Era M60A1 aka "The Pig".

Anybody as anxious as I waiting on A&K to come out with their M60A1 in 2010?

I certainly want one. I am saving up for it now.

Respectfully,
Esquire122

You were talking about the M60 and I remembered that I saw a post for a Asahi M60A1 on the Tennessee Forums for sale section. The pic showed it with the remote and a CO2 tank. the price did not look bad but it depends on the condition. Thought someone might be interested.

PostSubject: The look...   Thu Oct 15, 2009 1:42 pm

I like the looks of the M60....it just seems to say....just as its inspiration, the German MG42 said....

"Belt-Fed Death and Destruction upon those to the front!"

Of course, I have a nostalgic connection to the real steel version of the Pig so I have
to admit I have a bias for it.

Not to be off topic but the Asahi M60s are pretty much the cream of the crop all BV guns.

I wonder if the A&K M60E1 will have a potentiometer like the M43.

PostSubject: Pre-Orders are being taken....   Fri Oct 16, 2009 1:47 pm

The expectations of A&K's new M60A1 are getting higher.
Some companies are even taking the initiative, for better or worse,
and taking pre-orders.

http://www.combatsportsupply.com/aandkm60vnaeg.aspx

I don't know anything about the company but I just thought it
was noteworthy. They're not the only ones taking pre-orders.

It does appear to have to have the M249 muzzle compensator.
Some company will have to offer an after-market upgrade to
replace that with a correct M60A1 7.62mm compensator. *sigh*

Respectfully,
Esquire

i have done a bit of investigating on the gun. im very impressed with it. so far i have seen it shoot with accuracy up to 150 feet with about 20 bbs per second. reviews i have looked at say that the box mag feeds flawlessly and that there is a built in mosfet of sorts that can adjust the rof. it has a quick spring change mechbox feature much like the m249 but i have not yet gotten any info on the mechbox ( i have no idea what version it is at all but going by what asgi says it might be a new design)

its pretty inexpensive too at about 300$

PostSubject: M60A1 Video by Airsoft GI   Thu Oct 29, 2009 4:22 am

Hello Fellow Support Gunners!

Here is another video of the widely anticipated debut of the A&K M60A1.

Airsoft GI Youtube video

Airsoft GI's website claims to have the gun in stock for $399.
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=5953

With all of the recent factory closures by the PRC, these M60A1s will sell and that will be the end of it from
mainland China for the forseeable future. The Taiwanese manufacturers might pick up the shortfall from China.
The PRC just handed the Taiwanese airsoft manufacturers a golden windfall since their mainland Chinese
competitors have been effectively throttled. It remains to be seen however, if the Taiwanese will take advantage
of one of the best opportunities handed them in some time and fill the demand for inexpensive high quality airsoft clones.

Enjoy.
