thanks for all the suggestions. I know that the parts i ended up choosing wer quite different than some of the suggestions. i had to go a slightly cheaper route.

i got a good quality drum mag.

i checked the barrel and did not need a bore up.

anyways i ended up with the following....and if it messes up then u can laugh. i did go for quality though.

1 x AIM Monster Infinity Torque Up Gear Set w/ Piston for Airsoft AEG Rifles (Gears_AIM_Monster) = $49.99

1 x Guarder Anti-Reversal latch for Gearbox Ver 2 & 3. (Parts_GE_07_11) = $7.99

1 x Guarder Cylinder Enhancement Set for TM AK47/AK47S. (Parts_GE_03_27) = $59.99

1 x Systema NEW! Magnum Motor (Power) Short. (Motor_STMA_US) = $79.95

1 x Mad Bull Fishbone Bucking. (Bucking_MB_SAH) = $11.99

1 x Guarder High Precision Oil Tampered Nozzle for AK47 / 47S. (Nozzle_GE_04_27) = $12.00

1 x SYSTEMA M120 Taper Irregular-Pitch Spring (380~420 F.P.S.) (Parts_STMA_M120) = $16.00

1 x Guarder Shim Set for Marui A.E.G. Series. (Shim_GE_07_06) = $4.99

already had upgraded wiring with deans connectors. will be running 9.6 4200 mah battery.

also purchased http://extreme-fire.com/SW-EVOLUTION.html

i plan on having this up and running for the game on february 7th. if not by then definately by march 7th. i have to assemble the gearbox. and the gun. and drill and tap set screws in place.

gun should look like this....http://world.guns.ru/machine/rpk_01.jpg

The wood already has the realistic finish on it why paint it?

the plastic wood parts are fine. all the paint on the body of the gun is chipped and scratched so i think im going to sand it down and put a coat of flat black on it.

and maybe get some stencils and put 7.62x39mm on the body of the gun. in brown, dull red, or gloss black.

Black would be nice,or you could just paint it silver and sand it down a little, maybe sit it outside for a few days (just the body) and let it wear a little for that realistic finish.

allright i stripped the paint off the barrel and plan on painting it flat black. I also welded all the loose parts and removed the mighty putty.

i bought a rail base for the gun also

http://www.airsoftpost.com/matrix-desert-storm-rail-mount-base-series-p-28065.html

I just put the gearbox back together tonight. it works great. im not sure if rpks are supposed to have burst fire but i like it.

Now i have to reassemble the gun and find or replace any missing screws.

I cant wait to use it. i am going to take it to noob day and try it out there.

from what i can see it will have higher than average rof, 400-420 fps, and regular/burst/and semi-only capabilities. i have a prometheus hop-up bucking for it.

The capability to carry 3000-3500 rounds onto the field. and after a while i plan to add a scope.

also a bipod for stability when needed(airsoft guns dont kick)

like ive heard the previous owners say "" strong like bull, ugly like crackwhore"

i

So how is Irina doing after all that work comrade? She eats gears like a Jap eats rice and fish-heads, which is why I traded her off. The stock and forward grip are real wood. but I could never find a proper replacement outer barrel. TM V3 mech-box was in her originally I believe, same as in their AK. Guarder replacement parts are no longer available for the gun, another reason for the trade.

Drum mag...good luck. I have yet to find a reliable drum mag that feeds properly.
