General Siaka Roosevelt Jackson, Former African Union Force Commander, seized control of the Liberian government in a violent coup. Consolidating his power with former AU troops loyal to his command, Jackson has seized control of natural resources in Liberia and invaded neighboring Sierra Leone to secure diamond mines along the border.

Unlike earlier Warlords, Jackson has displayed unseen organization and aggressive financial use of captured resources. Ransoming diamonds back to the mining companies and selling them to black marketeers, Jackson has raised the capital to hire a large and professional mercenary army that has swept away local government forces and tribal militias. Within months, Sierra Leone and Guinea were under his control and his mercenary army stands poised to sweep into the rest of West Africa.

Western governments protest the bloodshed but no moves have been made for direct intervention past stiff UN economic sanctions. Small forces of UN peacekeepers have been sent in to rescue foreign workers and diplomats from the warzone and to observe the hostilities.

Furious at the delays from Western governments, a consortium of African and European corporations have hired their own mercenary army to challenge General Jackson and regain control of the captured resources. The world watches as soldiers of fortune fly into staging fields in Senegal and Cote d'Ivoire, preparing for war.

Actually it's NOT FL law. FL law says 16. However, Florida Airsoft Forum and it's staff don't like playing with kids under 18.

was that actually necessary? It Doesn't matter if it IS florida law or not, they (Florida bases airsofters) are running the game, they say 18 and up, then ok that's fine... no need to go find what the actual law says to make us look like we're amateurs and idiots.

Andrew, I just have a serious problem with Florida Airsoft's policies. Was it necessary? I think so. I'm sick and tiered of groups like Mindgame Productions and Florida Airsoft continually, and knowingly, perpetuating this lie, thus excluding thousands of airsoft enthusiasts because they don't want to "play with kids". Quite frankly, it's discriminatory, and it's wrong.

Further, I didn't have to look it up. I had it on file already. And tell me (in a PM), why in the world would it make "us" look an "amateur" or an "idiot"?

FA is a little to hard nosed about the under 18 thing but I can understand why they do it. I recently had an ex hange with a 12 year old from AL in email that confirmed my beliefs in young airsoft players, but then you should try and accept people on a case by case basis where you can.

well for folks that are so interested and supposedly informed about the hobby....i'm suprised the number of posts i've had to make on this issue on many of the SE airsoft forums has gone unoticed...lol....
for everyone that thinks this ......

while florida law allows airguns for those in the 16+ age range..that isn't the issue...its the liability issue created by minor in state....especially given the fla. supreme court's ruling in dec. that it is impossible for parents to sign away right of tort for their minor children....
http://orlandocriminallawyer.blogspot.com/2008/12/releases-from-liability-for-children.html
basically it means that any waivers for minors are null and void....meaning anyone can be sued by a kid thats allowed t play and that gets injured at a game in fla. whether it's game organizers,at fault players,and/or land owners....this has been enforced in precedent for several years now down there but this is the final word on it sine the US supreme court refused to hear arguments for appeal on the issue in feb.
when a kid was shot in shcool by cops when he wouldn't put down his HFC berreta several years ago,the only thing that kept a state wide ban from being enacted was the efforts of the FA folks who were able to show that their community was the largest one in the state in the hobby and that they didn't allow kids in any way shape or form to participate....while at that point the NRA was invlved with some lobbying on their behalf in that case....that is no longer an option for the airsoft community in this country.the NRA backed the bill a few weeks ago that basically flat out banned all sales of airsoft weapons in arkansas as well as possetion by those under 18.they made the provisions to specifically target "realistic or replica weapons that use air power to fire a non-metalic projectile". air guns that fire metalic projectiles are exempt....e.i. the daisy and crossman bb guns and pellet rifles that are used in the NRA's youth shooting programs.
but to finish....the rules of FA as a private group are theirs.....and now the law stands to back up those rules.they arent arbitrary or disciminatory.....and since i've played with a good number of them on occasion since 2001,i can say they aren't liars either......
