Hello Everyone,
Well, before I head to bed after only getting about 1 hour of sleep in the past thirty-six,
I have a few comments about this weekend's game.
1. Excellent turnout and we had great fun. Many, many Thanks for Madrule and Bravo 37
for putting on this game. Overall, it was well done. Any problems we had during the
game were worked out on the fly and noted for future operations.
2. Thanks to all those who took leadership roles. We organized the Platoon into a
traditional 3-squad Army Platoon where we assigned Squad Leaders with A Team
and B Team leaders.
1st Squad did warrior's work by securing Route 3 all the way to the Refinery
and holding it for two hours until the fuel truck arrived. They fought like lions against
a very determined and highly skilled enemy. 3rd Squad held Route 2 and fought off
the insurgents to keep the path back to the fuel depot for the Fuel truck clear.
2nd Squad held onto the Power Plant the entire day. Well done Corona Forces!
3. Arianna Forces made us pay dearly for every yard of real estate we took. My
hat's off to their making the game very difficult and at times, made the issue so
contested that we came to the end of the game only 20 points ahead despite
achieving 2 of the 3 objectives. I have to say Madrule and Bravo did a good job of
balancing the teams. Only the momentum of battle swung in our favor toward the
end because everything else was pretty much an even match.
4. Although I was suffering a pulled leg and hip muscle and stayed out of the last
deciding game, once again Corona Platoon rose to the occasion and managed to
destroy the Arianna HQ against a well defended position with a intractable enemy.
Hats off to the demo team that managed to pull it off.
5. Overall, it was a great day with all of my old Airsoft friends and I would like to
think that I made some new ones today to swap stories with at the next big
event. We arrived on the field as friends, we fought for our friends and we left
the field friends. Again, well done to all those who led the troops, the troops
themselves, especially the turnout by the MS-TAC folks in support of the event.
Everyone took on their assignments by squad and team, executing their assigned
tasks with determination. We had a couple of operational difficulties during the
mission tasking but I made notes of that for future operations.
6. Well done to Madrule and Cordovan National Guard who fought with us at times
against the insurgents during moments we were beleaguered during counter-
assaults by the Arianna Forces and their allies.
I know a few times, as my friend Mateba noted in a friendly way, that I was
"barking orders to the troops" by voice and radio to motivate them stay engaged
on our mission tasks. At times, I seemed to have a Platoon Sergeant's tone and
colorful language in my frustration with operational problems along the way but
we fought our way to victory. I give full credit to the troops who stood their ground
and refused to back down to the last trooper. You fought with honor and valor.
My hat's off to each and every one of you. Viva Corona, La Republica de Cerveza!
On a personal observation, what's up with all those GBB guns today? Is that the
fashionable thing these days? I saw several today. Very Interesting. I got to shoot a
WE SCAR GBB right before that last game. Very nice. I can see the attraction to GBB.
Respectfully,
