My son and I placed an order last week to Airsoft Megastore, and we just received it not an hour and a half ago. The order consisted of a D-Boys Full Metal M4 S-System, xtra mag, and a speed loader. Surprizingly enough, the weapon arrived ina styro foam carrier, with a cardboard lid...wrapped in brown paper WTF!!!

So anyways, we un-box/foam the M4 to find the flash hider damaged:

We pulled it out and looked it over some more to find that the collapsable stock was not on quite straight...the reason? Because the receiver had a big crack in it:

We also noticed that the magazine would not fit...maybe because of this huge siezmic gap!!!:

I have contacted Airsoft Mega to rectify the situation, they got all of these pics and more...

This whole package was shipped from California to Alabama in styro foam and brown paper...U-N-Be-leave-able!

I trust they will do good, otherwise I feel my son will crack...his money was very hard to come by.

That is a bummer!! I have ordered many times from airsoftmegastore.com and I have never had package arrive in a foam box wrapped in brown paper or even damaged for that matter. No one company is perfect 100% of the time. They make mistakes sometimes but they should replace the damaged goods. They do have some good customer service.

The damage could have happened anywheres along the route, I just wished the M4 had been packaged better to handle the 5-day journey. The retailer looks to be handling the situation quite well, which I am so far pleased with...open lines of communication are always a plus sign for me.

As for my son, at 15, it is kinda hard to come up with the cash, and we help him when we can, but he sold off a nice RC outfit to pay for this order, and he is now understandably disappointed...but he has COD4 to tide him over...at least until MW2 comes out in 4-weeks!!

Believe it or not, about 75% of the guns you will order will come packaged that way (with the exception of the paper wrapping). Even My King Arms Galil came that way.

Unfortunately, the Postal Service isn't known for their delicacy in handling packages. Especially if it is not marked "FRAGILE". Ask the retailer to mark the package as fragile when the ship the next one. That may alleviate some of the risk.

It cost me $37.50 to ship it back priority mail, and I have a feeling that Airsoft Mega will ask that we pay half or more to replace the rifle, as it is not completely their fault that UPS damaged it in shipment...since they packaged it so shabbily, I would hope they will eat the cost, and just send my son his rifle...he worked pretty hard for it.

Just to update, Airsoft Megastore has come through, and states they have shipped my son a replacement DBoy S-System today. NICE!! I just hope that better packaging methods were employed...

The replacement finally arrived, and it is in excellent shape...and it was not a repair job, it was a complete repalement with a new unit. We'll charge the battery for some target practice this weekend...we have a variety of ammo to try, from .20, .25 and .28's.

To that, I will stray off topic, and say that I have ordered from three different airsoft online sources in the last 4 or 5 weeks, and they have all performed nicely: AirsoftGI, Airsoft Megastore, and Evike...But airsoft Megastores shipping methods are not that great packaging wise.

i have orderd from evike a few times. they are great price wise and with shipping things quickly but don't expect them to do returns like airsoftgi. airsoftgi is pretty well known for its customer service.

I have been warned about Evike, and I took a chance...thankfully they were spot on with my order. They have the best selection of any Airsoft store too...

As for Airsoft Megastore, I am glad they provided us with excellent support, but they need to at least add an additional shipping box with their shipments to help protect the goods. A simple $5 box could have saved them from having to eat a $140 gun.

One complaint I had with AirsoftGI, is that one of my bag of BB's came taped up, indicating that it had been opened or damaged at one time...but I'm not going to count to make sure that I had all 3,000 bb's Smile

We are warming up the battery tomorrow, and will shoot my sons new M4 S-System this weekend.

The gun has a nice feel, and shoots pretty accuarte...it has only had 100 rounds or so run through it, but it looks to be a real nice buy for $139 (all-metal)

yea some packaging is down right horrible, the we scar came loose in a cardboard box
