I received my pistol yesterday. I have not had much time to examine it closely, but at first glance it is sweet!! The first mod I wanted to do was pull the Orange tip off, so I had a pair of pliers handy when I unboxed the weapon...to my surprize, the ugly Orange tip is now a threaded extension on the barrel, not just a tip. Tonight, I will take some pics to post, and try to see if the tip is plastic or painted/anodized metal.

..and now the pics

For whatever reason, my camera is now far-sighted...it only wants to focus far away

First up, is the Dragon in the Condor quick draw holster, here the suspect Orange tip is a blazing beacon:

Here, the Orange tip can be seen where the threaded barrel is plainly evident:

I took an Xacto knife, and chipped a little of the Orange (shiny dot on tip of barrel), and it is indeed a metal thread...yet, the tip still looks like an insert, but I can not remove it:

I suppose if I was a 'merc' the threaded tip would be a bonus, as I could look stealthy with a silencer, but I like the 45 without a silencer...

So I finally got around to getting the correct silicone liquid for my propane propellant, and today, one month after receiving my Dragon, I got to fire it.

With my speed loader, the HiCap loaded pretty good, although I only managed 29 BB's instead of advertised 30...but I'm not counting. The gun hit surprisingly hard, it actually kicked my wrist upward a little...very nice feel...I only shot the one mag full but it seemed to fire straight and true. The BB's began to drop right about 50 or so feet. I need to plan a good weekend of breaking in my guns, especially this one.

I have been reading up on the GBBR's, and my next rifle may be the WE M4, unless I hold out and get the WE M14 when it gets released.

Nice Patch too!

I don't think those threads are coming off nor would I personally want them too. I'd dunk the barrel in some paint thinner, nail polish remover or Iso. alcohol.

I considered that, as I would probably do more damage than good, trying to extract the tip.
