 Scenario ideas

I thought I'd post a couple ideas I had for some small scenarios we could try.

For this one, I was inspired by Battlefield Bad Company, because they kept trying to get all this gold...

Grab the Gold

In this scenario, Wall Street banks that made huge profits on selling bad mortgage debts and are now being bailed out by the American taxpayers have had a secret gold shipment that was to be deposited in their Swiss holding banks go down in the Black Forest of Germany.

The bankers want their money back, and to this end they have hired a mercenary squad from the vicious bloodthirsty band of criminals called Aurum Amor. Unbeknownst to the bankers, Aurum Amor plans to keep the goal for themselves in order to finance the purchase of biological weapons from a terrorist group, and then launch a bioterror attack on the United States.

Unfortunately for the bankers, the filthy criminals of Aurum Amor are wanted on the international crimes of human trafficking, bioterrorism, and loving gold too much. The U.S. government has found out about this plot, and in an effort to avoid this group getting biological weapons and to recover the gold for American interests, they are sending a special forces unit to take out the mercenary group and recover the gold before the mercenary squad can recover the gold.

The U.S. and mercenary squads must fight over the gold to see who can take home the most after an hour and a half of game time. The gold will be in a central location between the U.S. and Aurum Amor bases. You may take the gold from the central location, recover gold from your opponents, or kill an opponent and take their gold. If you die you must drop your gold. Respawns will be the X's in the diagram below:

You must respawn on your team's side of the field. If you are killed within 500 feet or can be reasonably construed to be guarding the gold at your base, you must respawn at the point behind your base. Respawn will be 5 minutes from the time that you get to the respawn point, so bring a watch. If you do not have a watch then you must count to 300 in seconds. Alternatively, we could have stopwatches at each respawn and have respawns every 5 mins starting from the top of the hour.

If we have a lot of people, then we can push respawns back to 15 minutes from the top of the hour. Everyone should bring a red death rag as well to indicate they are dead as they are headed to a respawn point.

Things that we will need:

Bricks or brick-like objects spraypainted gold
Gold spraypaint
Stopwatches
Orange flags to mark respawn points
Team markers (if we do not use standard team uniforms)

What people will need to bring:
Watch
Radio
Red death rag


We could plan a continuation of this scenario based on the outcome of who gets the most gold. We could have a value for each gold brick and based on total number of gold bricks, Aurum Amor could have enough to finance the the purchase of the weapons, which the U.S. squad must intervene and recover the biological weapons and/or gold.

Otherwise, if U.S. forces recover the most gold, then Aurum Amor must attempt to ambush and recover the gold as the gold is transported from the U.S. forward operating base to the transport site. We would need to designate areas for the arms deal, and for the U.S. transport site, depending on the outcome, and should be know only to the side that won the first scenario, and that the opposing side must discover. They should be in relatively open areas.

It would be nice to have a large number of gold bricks, so that it takes time to transport enough of them, and so that it is more difficult to transport, requiring teamwork and good communication.

Well, it removed the spaces on my diagram, but imagine a center line in between the two bases, where the gold will be located. The two operating bases are equidistant from the gold, with a respawn point in between each base, and then one behind each base.

I think we should use it for this saturday.
