PostSubject: Speaking of Batteries...   Thu Jan 29, 2009 1:20 pm

Hello Everyone,

Can anyone find a better price than this for an 8.4V 3500 maH NimH battery?

TENERGY 8.4V 3800mAh Flat NiMH Battery Pack

I have the 3500mah Flat NiMH Battery Pack that came with my ICS M4
(an option from Pyramyd Air at the time) and I have really liked the performance
and duration of this make and model battery.

Comments? (and please...no LiPO discussion..make that another thread.)

Respectfully,
Mike W.
Auburn, AL

It's going to be hard to beat their prices. They have some pretty good deals. I did find this one, it's got more mAh then you were looking for but it's on sale. It would be best to check the shipping charges for both companies.

8.4 v 4200 mAh

8.4 v 4200 mAh
Mike

8.4V 4200maH From BatterySpace:
Price $29.99
S&H $ 7.89
Tot $37.88

8.4V 3800maH From all-battery.com
Price $28.51
S&H $ 8.76
Tot $37.27

Price Difference: $0.61 Rating difference: 400maH

Conclusion: For 61 cents extra you get another 400maH capacity. If you think that 400maH isn't
much, consider this: That extra 400 maH capacity is about 1/3 of the rating of my 1100maH small NiMH
battery that came with my M249. That is equivalent to buying an 1100mah NiMh battery for $1.83. (.61x3)

Winner: Battery Space

Well done Kiltman! *HAT TIP* I will be ordering one from Battery Space.

Respectfully,
Mike W.

Cheapbatterypacks.com will make an Elite 8.4v 3300 for $28 and an upgraded version (cells soldered end to end) of it for $35. I would not skimp on batteries since they are one of the most used pieces of gear that you have. A 7.4v lipo will also give you a little better trigger responce and take up half the room.

http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/main.asp?sid=1566504&pgid=superlisting&type=airsoft&manufacturer=24&model=210

RCLipos.com has great price, quality (current generation) lipo cells and free shipping. http://www.rclipos.com/PolyRCSpecials.htm#PRC20C 7.4v >2000mah lipos usually go for ~40 and up but with free shipping. I would not recommend the use without an alarm though. Which inquries may be sent to contacts found here http://www.projectwolfdragon.com/Products/Products.htm, they are $15-17 and do not require MOSFETs.

I know this probably wouldn't happen in airsoft but for the one person in thousands who wires his lipo up wrong. here it is. notice it doesn't catch fire. but i know its pretty hot.

That is just silly. I wonder what happens when you put a flame at the end of your GBB and shoot it, or walk out in traffic? Really come on. There are things we face on a daily basis that are harmless but under other circumstances cause injury or death. You don't stick lipos where they can be shot, which is in the normal places, and you don't drive nails in them. That video has nothing to do with incorrect wiring (care to elaborate). Silly post and a poor attempt at scare tactics.

thats right... i try to scare folks so they dont beat me with their high powered lipo energized guns. I do believe however that a lipo could have problems with heating if wired wrong.--just like any other airsoft battery.

Ive seen guns with lipo's in them they have a good steady rof.

Why does that sound familiar to me? You wouldn't be saying something a little indirectly would you? Very Happy Glad to see your reasonable side too. BTW if you want a hand at making your own beam weapon I'd be glad to help. (you know, if you can't beat'em...)

I do agree that lipos require a higher level of respect and care. Its not hard to care for them though, the only hump for the average airsofter is the charger/balancer problem. They tend to be expensive even though most will charge NiMH and NiCD batteries. I also agree with the ROF statement. In most cases, lipos used in extreme builds are more of a great icing on an already taste cake. They do not guarantee awesomeness even though its not hard to gain 10rps with the right pack. cheers

Bah, pretty soon it will be li-po for everything. Even power tools are better because of them. NICD and NIMH are so far obsolete it's not even funny. For instance I can shoot two full drums and some change with only 1500mah(That is with the gun shooting 385FPS/.25g). If you don't want the insane ROF just get a 7.4v. The batteries are not dangerous. It is idiots using them causing the danger. Someone please make a statement showing one thing that makes the inferior technology better. Price does not count considering you always have to pay for what is better. I am also willing to bet li-po will become cheaper considering it is becoming the standard.
