It looks a little aggrivating to have to wind that wheel on the Hicap mags, wouldn't you rather just carry extra Midcaps?

I would not consider myself to be a "Pray~n~spray" shooter...I figure I could get by just fine on 79 rounds per mag (X5) using semi-auto.

However, winding the wheel might be better than having to change out mags and keep up with empties every 79 rounds...

What do you veterans of the sport prefer?

I am the opposite

Mid-caps I love to reload and I hate to “pray and spray” but sometimes it needs to be done. I like playing it like it were real. (but do keep in mind it is just a game!)

Hicaps are great...if you like to wind a magazine the whole time your shooting

I like midcaps because if you decide to go to big games down in Florida like at Camp Blanding they require mid-caps.

I use both. If I'm wearing my chest rig I carry midcaps. They are lighter and don't make any noise when running. If it's a hot day and short games and no rig, I wear a leg panel with a couple of hicaps.

It depends on which mid-caps you get.

If you get the cheap MAG brand that are plastic and light. They work just fine (I haven't had any issues)

If you get like the STAR brand or King Arms that are metal. You'll find that those are just as heavy as hi-caps.

I carry about 10-12 mid-caps and its great for when your going CQB or in an intense firefight where you can just drop the mag and throw another one in.

Thanks for the feedback guys, it all helped me to make the decision to order a 5pk of G&G micaps for my G&G M16A3...anyone ever tried the G&G 79 round midcap mags?

Mine are also the "MAG" brand.

Dragon64, Are you getting the G&G mags because you are buying a G&G gun? All M16/M4 should fit the gun. I was just was worrying because the price you are paying for 5 G&G, you can get a 8 pack of the "mag" 120 round magazines. That's 395 rounds vs 960.

I did look at those, and considered them, especially since they hold substantially more ammo per mag...I usually get product specific G&G gun with G&G accessories etc. Honestly, I could have just bought one more Hicap, and cut my budget completely down to manageable.
