I have been looking for a good AK.

I saw this and I love the look of the original AK's over the 'tactical' ones

I have read a LOT of reviews and have (of course) gotten mixed reviews.

It shoots 430 FPS with .2's but I don't use .2's

I use .25 so I was estimating about 400-410 FPS.

It supposedly has a decent ROF.. but I use a 4200 mah 8.2 in all my guns (large type) so its gonna have a decent ROF.

I wanted to get everyones opinions because I am starting firefighting school soon so I can't drop a lot of money on an expensive gun right now.

So, I would preferably like to keep the comments of "Don't get that. Get a C.A. (or something expensive)" to a minimum because like I said,

I can't blow a lot of money on a gun right now or anytime soon.


Hope to hear a lot of opinions/reviews.

You know that will still be shooting hot right? What about your AKS-74U? A wining harness is only $25. Some nice other bits would be a new an extra piston and a new motor. That battery with a G&P M120 will do work on a M120 spring.

It's a clone of the CYMA AKM with amercian trademarks on it, the CYMA was pretty alright So I suppose this one will be to.

I think you should get a, like I said, a G&P M120 motor and a Prommy hard piston. If you really want to go over board you could buy me a a bag of .3g BBs.

Seriously, you have a $700 setup sitting around collecting dust. Just fix it and enjoy. Once you get your new wiring harness you should be good functionally. The ROF will not be as good as the G&P but it'll be good. I'll solder the mosfet in and you won't have to worry about the contacts again. The piston is just to have on hand. Running a 20+ rps 400FPS gun is fine and all but have a nice piston laying around is essentially an insurance policy at any decent OP.

As for any big lavish expenses you could go for an optic or a Russian sincerer. The real Russian optics are NICE and CHEAP for real steal. Still $200 is no joke so I'd either save it or go spend it on something you really want. A silencer could go a long way with the sorbo stuff I have. We could swap if out and really quiet it down. But if you really want over do it and shut that puppy up an 8mm MB is the key.

No, you do not need the piston or the motor to get the gun running. The piston and motor is to get it running faster and longer. I saw a harness at AIRSFOTGI for $25 that seemed to be upgraded. Any AK harness will work but they all cost about $20+, this side of the pond.
